This week we are reviewing characteristics of a quality servant leader:
Self-Discipline is one of these characteristic.
Lytton Strachey, a distinguished British writer, wrote of Florence Nightingale, the Mother of nursing and much, much more:
“It was not by gentle sweetness and womanly self-abnegation that she brought order out of chaos in this Scutari hospitals (located in Turkey) that from her own resources she had clothed the British Army, that she had spread her dominion over the serried and reluctant powers of the official world: it was by strict method, stern discipline, by rigid attention to detail common by ceaseless labor by the fixed determination of an indomitable will. Beneath her cool and calm demeanor there lurked fierce and passionate fires.”
Question: Do you have self-discipline, indomitable (unconquerable) will, a cool and calm demeanor, and fierce and passionate determination?
If you don’t know much about Florence Nightingale, look her up, she was a genuinely great and inspiring woman!
